Perform the recommended preparation where possible. Men wear two unstitched cloths; women wear modest clothing that fulfils Islamic requirements.
Avoid the prohibited actions of Ihram and keep your intention sincere.
Enter Ihram before crossing the relevant Miqat. Your route, flight and group plan determine the practical timing.
Make the intention for Umrah and begin the Talbiyah according to guidance you have learned from a reliable scholar.
Enter calmly, keep belongings secure, agree meeting points and avoid pushing in crowded areas.
Complete seven circuits around the Ka'bah, staying aware of crowd flow and your group's advice.
Pray after Tawaf where possible without causing obstruction. If the area is crowded, follow safe alternatives advised by scholars.
Drink Zamzam with gratitude, without blocking movement or group meeting areas.
Walk seven lengths between Safa and Marwah, beginning at Safa and ending at Marwah.
Men shave or trim; women trim a small amount according to qualified guidance.
Once complete, the restrictions of Ihram are lifted. Confirm any uncertainty with your scholar or group guide.
If you make a mistake or become unwell, pause and ask your group religious guide. Do not rely on crowd behaviour as proof of a ruling.
